A capitalist's dream

The young man said he was a business finance major at Ohio State University.

"Maybe someday you can be called before Congress to testify as an evil Wall Street CEO," I joked.

"That would be my dream," he smiled.

And where else but America could a counter clerk working his way through the state university dream of becoming a mover and shaker, colluding with the White House and Congress to influence regulations to restrict the competition?

Bible study at Paneras

I saw a woman writing in her notebook and sifting through Bible texts by the fireplace today. "Doing Bible study?" I asked. "Yes," she replied. "It's 3 women and my class is tomorrow." "Are you at UALC" "No. [??] Methodist." UALC's Women of the Word is offering this video based study, "Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David," based on the teaching sessions with small group discussions of Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur

Crying babies, patient parents

Usually I don't approve of medicating hyperactive children, but today at the coffee shop there was a screaming wiggling running toddler, with 3 or 4 other quieter siblings. Maybe Mom could take something.

"My wife's first baby daddy . . . "

I didn't catch the rest, but did wonder how many more baby daddies his wife has, and how many would have ruined the relationship. Young people today. . .
