What I hear and see and think about at the coffee shops I patronize.
Brisk. Fresh. Well-balanced. Occasional nutty and bittersweet overtones.

Ponytail Pete

One of the regulars has cut off his pony tail. I asked him about it today. He said he grew it after he retired, causing his adult children much cause for concern. He said he was able to remind them how much grief they'd given him over hair a few decades ago.

Fifty years ago, I had a pony tail, too.

Put some clothes on

One of the messages of the Resurrection is that God cares about our bodies--he has a recycling plan. But some Christians over do. There's a guy I see at the coffee shop--really buff, slender, and scantily clad--reading his Bible. I do wish he'd put on more clothes to go out in public. It's not that his fine thighs are distracting me from reading my WSJ, but I'm afraid he'll catch oold.
